Skift Take: Many automakers today make most of their profit on selling warranties for maintenance and service, rather than on selling the vehicles themselves. Boeing is considering a move to a similar model for its airplane sales. This move may become possible thanks to a more sophisticated use of data for predicting which parts will fail.
